We are looking for a part-time Assistant Store Manager/Social Media Coordinator to support the daily operations of our coastal tabletop and gift shop.

About the Role

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a beautiful, customer-focused retail environment and has a strong eye for presentation, organization, and service.

The Assistant Store Manager will work closely with the owner to help ensure the store runs smoothly, merchandise is beautifully presented, and customers receive an exceptional shopping experience. This position will assist with product photography and visual content for marketing and social media.

This is a part-time role, with a minimum of 3 days per week (24 hours per week). Store hours are 10 AM–6 PM, Monday through Saturday, and 11 AM–5 PM Sunday. Saturday and Sunday availability is required, though team members may rotate weekends

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations: 

  • Step into a leadership role when the owner or manager is unavailable.
  • Supervise and support sales associates as needed.
  • Support daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Support store communication and general operational tasks.

Client Service & Sales:

  • Provide excellent customer service and assist shoppers on the sales floor.
  • Guide customers through product selections across tabletop, home objects, and gifts.
  • Cultivate relationships with clients through thoughtful service and follow-up.
  • Help process special orders, returns, and customer concerns.

Merchandising & Inventory:

  • Maintain attractive, well-organized merchandising and displays.
  • Assist with inventory management, POS data entry (Shopify), restocking, and receiving merchandise.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of the Homeport Brand and the standards of our shop.

Marketing & Content: 

  • Assist with product photography and simple visual content for social media or website use.
  • Basic social media or content creation experience - through Instagram, TikTok, you will help bring our brand to life online. Share content on Instagram and TikTok through stories, feed posts, and video content. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a boutique or retail environment
  • Prior experience with Shopify or similar technology.
  • Experience creating social media content on Instagram and TikTok
  • Prior experience with CapCut, Canva or Inshot or similar tools.
  • Interest in home décor, tabletop, or gift retail.
  • Creative eye for presentation and styling.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 6–8 hours per shift)
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise weighing up to 25–30 pounds
  • Ability to visually assess product presentation, including attention to detail in merchandising and displays
  • Ability to occasionally assist with setting up and rearranging fixtures, tablescapes, and in-store displays
